Nice Solid Rice Cooker
Purchased to replace my old Panasonic rice cooker that burnt out at the bottom. I've used it a couple times now and it works as it should. It's so nice to have a non stick inner pot with no scratches! Our old one was pretty beat up. I bought a silicone rice spoon to keep the pot scratch free (who knows how toxic they can be when they are damaged - manufacturer suggests getting a new inner pot after 3 years). Japanese made (the main reason for purchase). The long cord is retractable. There is sort of a bubble at the bottom of the cooker that people seem to think is a defect but i think it's made that way. I hope everyone else's is the same? Nevertheless it's working perfectly and hope it will last another decade. Will update review if otherwise. Read more

Spews rice starch on outside of cooker
This spews rice paper pulp gelatin all over the outside of the container. We even rinsed the rice to remove as much starch as possible and it still boils out the rice starch. Read more
