I got this hat for my wife before our last camping trip and honestly it was one of those things that just worked better than expected. I know it's meant for kids but the one size actually fit her really well since she has a smaller head. The adjustable chin cord helped keep it snug even when the wind picked up. The style is simple and kinda timeless looking and it goes with most of her hiking and outdoor stuff. It’s super light so she barely noticed it on her head and the mesh sides actually helped a ton with staying cool when we were out in the sun all day. She mentioned the sweatband kept her from feeling gross and sticky which I guess matters more than you think after a few hours outside in the humidity and heat. The material feels tough but light, not stiff and she packed it down in her bag easy without it getting all bent outta shape. It’s held up to a few trips now and still looks good as new which is wild considering the price was way lower than I expected for something this good. It also gave solid shade to her face and neck so no sunburn this time after kayaking which was a win. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have a 4 yo son who has a large head and always needs to wear an adult sun hat, so I was happy to find this bucket hat because it fits well on him. This hat is lightweight, breathable, and reshapes easily after going through the washer/dryer. It is also water-play friendly. However, I would like to point out that the adjustable drawstring isn't removable. It dangles a little too long on him, and he either plays around with the clasp or the excess cord. I'm hoping he gets used to it over time. It's a bit pricey, but considering the brand and quality, I think many would still be satisfied with the purchase. Read more
The Timberland Mesh Panel Kids Boys Bucket Hat, is One Size, and is set to fit a 55" head, which equates to a US, 6 7/8 hat size. Thankfully, I have a small head and normally wear a US, 7-7 1/8, so I figured it could JUST fit. Thankfully, I was right considering the material being 100% nylon with the possibility for having a bit of stretch, and I've been using it in my garden on hotter days. It's super cute, light and I appreciate the fact that it has a sweat-wicking band on the inside of it, as well as mesh paneling to help keep it breathable. The brim falls just right to give me enough visibility and shade, and I can easily flip it up if I need to. As far as the chin strap goes, It's not too necessary for me, but it's definitely helpful for when I want to not have the hat on my head, but still be able to keep track of it. On top of it all, it doesn't take up much space so I can easily take it on vacations. How about just saying 6 7/8 hat size??? (Hard to find in one of the photos: 21.65”. Found another location saying for boys 7-14. Timberland is a famous brand of quality goods…. and has been, for decades. But this is the so called “One Size” hat, that I think is always nonsense. The listing needs to be clearer. Just found out days ago, that this hat was way too large for my 6 year old grandson. There is about 2 fingers of space leftover. Sure, it will be cute to put it on a younger child, but a hat should fit a head, if nothing else so a tiny bit of wind does not blow the hat off the head. Am I right? 3 star review.
