Super soft, which does make me worry at the longevity of this rug, but my dogs - and cat - love it. I wanted a rug for their feeding station as I noticed they got scared whenever their feet would slide on the laminate. Unlike the previous mat, this one covers the area well so that all four feet are firmly tractioned as they eat. No more skittering away in fright. Plus the cute little paw print design really helps it fit in as it’s own little pet-centered area versus looking like some random small rug to the side of my large area rug. This rug is a replacement for a rug that we use at the entrance to the home from our garage. We needed a low pile type material as a security screen door swings over the rug and the door sweep fits snugly over the rug to preclude easy access by any bugs that may be attempting to enter the home. The rug is both functional and attractive and works well in the location mentioned above. We have not had an occasion to warrant cleaning the rug however other reviewers have indicated that it holds up well to washing. Overall, we are very satisfied with the rug and highly recommend it for others with a need for a well made low pile rug. We have not had the occasion to determine its durability, absorbency or ease of cleaning at this time. Read more

I have dogs. I permanently, 2 part time. I also garden. A ton of dirt, debris, mulch, sticks, and birdseed would get tracked into my house. I knew there had to be a solution. So I looked in stores and online, but all the rugs were either pretty but not very functional or functional but not very attractive. This rug is both attractive and very dirt-trapping!
