This alarm clock was purchased for a son who was waking late. It is perfect for his use across the room - the alarm starts more quietly and gradually builds in volume. He has to get up to turn it off. Late waking problem solved! It is easy to use and the clock face is large enough to see the time from further away. Read more

[UPDATE] Just a week after having the clock, the rattattat noise that my last one started making after 22mos started. It's not full rattattat yet, but it's already loud enough to hear from my bed. I'm sure the company's aware of the problem. If you search for this clock from the main "Tinload" page here, you'll see it's marked as a "Frequently returned item" and this is surely why. If the noise is because of the secondhand gear, then I wish there was a version without it. Don't need it. I'm returning it. [ORIGINAL] "Newer version" of my old one (not black though). We'll see if this starts making the rattattat noise that my other one started making after 22mos. So far, it's totally noiseless and awesome, like when I first got my other one. Nice alarm clock,: accurate and easy to set and read. I'm 84 years old with diminished eyesight (AMD) and really like this clock. Don't hesitate buying it if you're a senior. It's attractive, easy to read from near or far, and a great value for the money. Read more

Keeps time well, loud alarm, but the night light to see time or adjust the alarm setting isn't bright enough to see where you are setting the alarm. It may be the position of the light in regard to the clock hands that is the problem. Many people might not need this, but I do. So, I end up turning the light on or using a flashlight to reset the alarm for morning wakeup. (I have to get my disabled wife up every night to take her to the bathroom, so that's why I need the night light to reset the alarm in the dark.) Maybe if the manufacturer reads this review, they will reposition the light or find some other way to adjust alarm time without having to turn a light on. Read more
