I have to say, I'm impressed! I ordered these in February and I live in the NE where we were getting slammed with snowstorms. I wanted to charge them so put them by a slider that I have that faces east - where I get most of the sun all day even in the winter. Yes, they took longer to charge but it wasn't 'that' sunny out - maybe a couple of days but on day #2, I woke up and they were all lit up in a darkened room - LOL - yay! I would reco these all day long. They are pretty and just the right size. I havent' tried to hang them outside yet but I'm sure they'll be fine no matter where I decide to put them. I purchased a few of these and all, but one worked for about 12 1/2 to 13 hours. One of them had problems on my shepherds hook that would go out after a couple hours and then I would have to tap it. It would turn back on then off again a couple hours later. So I placed that one on just a normal hook on my door and it worked perfectly each time. Go figure. Thus far, I’m very happy with the performance, but I do understand somebody’s frustration if it doesn’t work well. But I read other reviews for other solar lights and they to have issues from time to time. They should not discourage you from trying these. Read more

I have multiple flickering flame solar lights, including lanterns such as these. I received my first set a few weeks ago, and this is what I have found to be true, so far. These particular lanterns seem to be made of a sturdy plastic, so you do not have to worry about rust from metal. They come with an easy to assemble hanger with clip, if you should desire to use clip. If so desired. They are very bright and realistic looking. Once fully charged, they have operated from dusk until dawn. I have gotten up just before sunrise, and they are still lit. This particular brand is taller than the standard size of other brands I have purchased in the past. The larger size allows for more light, and a better display. My other lanterns have lasted me as long as 5 years, however, I do not know how many years this particular brand will last since I just purchased them this year. I will update my review with longer use. The only downfall to most of these flickering flame torch and lanterns is, that most of them you cannot replace the solar battery should it fail. So far, I like this product and think it would make a nice gift for anyone who has an outdoor deck, or garden to place them in. Read more
