Use your brain when using products. Rodents hate the smell of peppermint oil and cinnamon oil. Which this product uses, albeit less concentrations that I'd like but the price makes up for that and you can always add more on your own. It doesn't take much, really. The sprayer is battery operated which is useful I suppose. You don't need to use a lot of this. Just wet the area evenly, only 3 inches wide really. If it rains you'll have to reapply, obviously. This is a BARRIER product. It PUSHES rodents. It doesn't repel like an electric fence. If you already have an infestation this product will likely PUSH them inside more. You need to use this BEFORE you have an infestation. I use it in the fall right when the night temperatures get 40 or below. I spray the house brick where they likely come in under the siding. This worked so well that even squirrels that would bury nuts around my house stopped going there. I also spray my garage perimeter but I start inside around the cars for a week or two, since rodents are inevitably already inside. I then PUSH them out from there, after the car perimeter I put it on the INSIDE perimeter of garage walls. Then after a week I do the OUTSIDE perimeter. This works perfectly every single year. Once it stays cold they don't go inside because they already made their home for the winter elsewhere. But I do spray every other month or so to keep them out since for some people/mice they will be attracted back in the garage once the warm cars park in there. If you park outside where mice are a worry, spray under the engine bay ground and a perimeter around the car, preferably under slightly to protect from weather washing it away faster. They're attracted to the heat so they come in the engine compartment area the most. It's simple. Peppermint oil alone works but cinnamon helps. If you have rodents used to this or larger ones like rats you'll need to increase the oils. Buy some and add it to this, even cooking extracts work. You want toothpaste in your eyes or nose? That's what this does to rodents. But it PUSHES them. So if they're inside already you need to use it inside to PUSH them out (not advised since it smells ok but it'll bother your own eyes inside). This works best if you use it BEFORE but I promise once I had mice come in my house for two years straight it stopped after I used peppermint oil and cinnamon oil products. This is a weaker and cheaper product but it does work in principle. If it isn't PUSHING for you, get a product with higher concentrations or add more oil to this yourself. And remember, if they're already inside something you have to PUSH them from the inside first. You do it from the outside you're just going to keep them inside and they'll eventually get used to it anyway. Read more

We live out in the country & have an abundance of mice outside. We bought a new Toyota in 2024 and have had numerous problems under the hood due to the mice. Two separate times Toyota techs have told me their wiring coating is made with soybeans. Guess what??? Mice love it. One tech suggested Tom Cat peppermint spray. I spray it under my hood every 2 weeks & I spray heavily. I also use glue traps(TomCat) on top of the battery (duck taped under the trap to adhere to the battery). And we have an electronic deterrent under the hood! Photo shows an escapees fur and partially eaten glue trap!!! This spray has greatly reduced the number of mice I have caught in the glue traps. Okay, so I return from vacation and find that 2 vacuum hoses have been chewed through under the hood of my car. I do my due diligence and decide that this product is exactly what I need, so I order some. After replacing the 2 chewed hoses I saturate pretty much the entire engine compartment with this crap and focus heavily on the vacuum lines themselves. Just 2 days later I go to start my car and it reacts similarly to the situation with the chewed vacuum line. Sure enough! I pop the hood and they are chewed through again! That same day (today) I contact the manufacturer about a return and a refund. This is their reply: We are sorry the Tomcat Repellents Rodent Repellent Ready-to-use did not work as expected. The Tomcat Repellents Rodent Repellent Ready-to-use is formulated to be applied to the exterior prior to rodents entering and beginning to nest inside a structure. If there were signs of rodents inside a structure prior to application this is unlikely to help with controlling those but would reduce the likelihood of new rodents entering the area. Rodents already living inside a structure will need to be controlled by other means such as traps or baits. So, long story short.... this product is primarily to be used BEFORE you encounter any rodents. So think about that. Only purchase this product if you HAVE NOT encountered a rodent issue. I have plenty of places with NO rodent issues so there are plenty of places I can spread this $24 carton of BS! Read more

I purchased this product awhile ago when our grandson notice a mouse near the shed in the back of our house and immediately purchased the Tomcat repellent to ward off any mice. After applying it every other month for a year now, I have found it to consistently deter mice ... so much so ... I have not seen another since beginning applications. It has a very pleasant smell and worked the first time I used it. The handy sprayer is very convenient making spraying between cracks and fence borders around the yard. I also like that it is safe around pets and children. If it rains, you must apply another coat, usually three inches around the perimeter. It definitely seems like a positive solution to keep rodents away. You can also use this in the house spraying under sinks, etc., however, I have not had to do this because spraying the perimeter of the house and yards does the trick. Read more
