I am glad to get a warm beanie with a brim. I wear beanies in the winter, but if I am doing outdoor sports of any type, I wear a baseball cap underneath to block the sun. That won't be necessary with this cap. I also like merino wool a lot. I have a lot of merino wool garments, and it is kind of a super fabric if you have not experienced it. The hat has a very warm, plush liner. It would be 5 stars, but the hat in person has pleats in the crown that look different than the smooth appearance on the model in the picture. I have another lined beanie, and it looks similar to this. So just know that it is not as smooth looking as in the picture if that is important to you. Read more

This feels warm, well made, and has a great maroon color. My husband got a similar hat for himself last winter that was great at keeping snow from hitting my face while snow blowing. Unfortunately, it was for him and he's got a big head. when this popped up to try, I eagerly jumped on it especially because it had the smaller size available. I guess the medium one is too big for me. It has a lot going for it, but it's got a weird bumpy top that stays crinkled/bumpy because my head doesn't fill it out. At least that's my best guess. It has a lumpy hat look- like a crumpled beret- rather than a beanie hat like I hoped. The bill to the hat also doesn't fit rounded like in the picture, it's flat and won't curve properly on my head. Again, I think it's because my head is just too small but my head is pretty average for a woman. I'll still happily wear this snow blowing because it does seem warm. I do think a larger head would get it to look better. I'm worried the flat bill won't help protect from the snow like my husband's does and the weird lumpy look to the top is weird enough that I'm not really going to be wearing it out and about like I planned *Edit I found my picture from when I first got it that shows the lumpiness of the top of the hat, it stays lumpy like that when on.
