Really nice beanie. Warm even on cold days…I’ve had it on in weather in the teens and breezy. As well comfortable in less than frigid temps unlike some materials that are just too hot for a typical 30 degree day. Also soft and comfortable. I got the XL/XXL but don’t have large head. From what others reported I just felt that would be more comfortable than a smaller size….it is and it’s not loose by any means. So…comfortable (soft not scratchy), warm and looks nice. First of all, the beanie is really very nice. The material, as you would expect, is very soft and feels good against the skin. Regular wool is itchy against my skin. The Merino wool doesn't irritate my skin in the least. There is also room in the top of the beanie for hair, something I don't have! The construction is great - the stitching, the weave of the panels, and the overall quality make me think it will last for many years. Now, the one issue. I shave my big head. Shaved, it's 23 inches/58.4cm around. Yes, big. I wanted to give this 5 stars, but the sizing issue prevents me from doing so. Initially, I ordered according to reviews, and Amazon's AI - "Large-X-Large is your recommended size based on millions of customer orders and reviews." When I received the beanie and put it on my large head, I immediately knew it was way too small - a "squeezing my head like a grape" small. Since the beanie was so well made and there was a larger size available, I returned the beanie and ordered the X-Large-XX-Large (gray). I'm wearing it now, and it's a good fit. That being said, if it were any smaller, I would also return this one. So, to "bottom line" it, according to the size chart, the beanie I'm currently wearing would be too big.
