when I first received my first Torey LEQ, I liked it, but it simply quit working after a few months (maybe 6 but probably less). Figuring it was just a quirk, or maybe we used it unplugged too often. I ordered a 2nd, and made sure that we kept it plugged in whenever possible. My second one is also now dead. It was 5 months old. (purchased may 26th - it quit working nov 5) Read more

PITA Battery

Got the item, took it home, unpacked it and plugged in the wall wart power supply, turned it on, all's good. Reading the instructions, it states that the included 6 volt rechargeable battery takes about 10 hours to charge, with the unit turned off, so I turned the unit off and went on to other things. The next morning, I unplugged the charger, pressed the ON button and... nothing. Plugged the charger back in, the unit fired right up. I turned the unit upside down, removed the screws on the battery cover, and the battery was stuck HARD, with no access to the terminals. After about an hour, several broken fingernails, and a LOT of swearing, I managed to get the battery positioned to where I could see that the negative push-on terminal was unconnected!! Luckily I had some slender forceps that allowed me to retrieve the loose connector and place it on the terminal. Apparently there was some charge on the battery, as the unit then powered up with the battery. I'm still not sure if the battery will come out if/when it's time to replace it, but that's for another day. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this unit unless you are willing to swear at it. Read more
