I wanted a small flat screen for the kitchen so that I wouldn't miss any great shows while cooking. I checked out all the local stores and couldn't really find anything under $250 that captured my eye. I found this on Amazon and had it in a couple of days. Loves: - Great picture. Anything this small probably will have a very sharp screen, but this one really sparkles. I don't have an HD box connected to it, yet the picture on regular cable is crisp. - Easy controls. The unit is completely remote-dependent. But that control is intelligently designed and feels natural. The only thing I miss is a "Previous" button. - Sound. While I could attach external speakers, I didn't. Yet the sound from the built-in speakers is fine. Not-so-much loved: - It is really tiny. It is sold as a 19 inch picture, but it isn't quite 18.5 inches. Not a big deal, but certainly not a large picture, either. I'm happy with my choice and, based on other Toshiba electronics I've owned, I expect this will last a long time. Read more

We are thrilled with this little tv! Ordered it on 2-day shipping so we'd be home. The FedEx man handed it through the door. This was to replace an RCA 1995 CRT unit that had swivel base and built-in VCR--a great little unit so we were leery of trying a new flat screen. Positives: 1. Easy to set up if you follow the handbook enclosed. 2. Looks nice. (cute I would say) Sturdy. 3. Good picture, nice colors, ....I use the size of picture it came with even tho you have a menu to go full screen, etc. 4. Wonderful sound, I would say. No problems at all with it. Negatives: 1. My husband gets irritated a little bit with the channels changing with hesitation. Doesn't bother me so much. TIP: When we first hooked this up, as I read in another review someplace, there was some (ghosting?) or blur when a person talking would turn their head while talking in a scene, but it worked itself out in a day or two..... This is a **guess** from a NON TECH SAVY PERSON but maybe during the first 3 days, when I called the cable-tv company to ask why the new tv had channels the other tv did not get, just maybe they changed the signal to the house to receive HD channels better. If it's not that, then in 3 days the blur worked itself out. Now, even ballgames come through just fine. Really nice picture on about 70 channels I get and then maybe 3 of the new ones are not good, the others are just fabulous and the newer ones go full-screen automatically. Read more

This television has some good features. - The picture has vivid color, especially in digital channels. - Digital and analog channels are combined together. As you channel surf, it will display the next channel. Very handy for not having to switch between digital and analog. - Digital tuner is already included. - Digital closed captioning has a wide customisation. This television has inferior quality to an old CRT television. When I lie down in my bed to watch TV, the picture darkens considerably to the point it makes darker programmes unwatchable! Another point that was unpleasant is that I cannot turn the volume down very low. On Volume 1 it still makes a lot of noise! And Volume 0 is mute. I like to keep a low volume so I don't disturb neighbours. This television would be a lot better for you if you are always watching it on level (not above or below the television's vertical position). Also, there is no customisation for analog closed captioning. I found the writing was too small and annoying font. The television also forgot my video settings a couple times so far. It was annoying to have to try to find the best settings again. Read more

So I've has my TV for a little over a month now and I absolutely love it! Pros -The picture is great and I love that it's a wide screen HDTV. -When I ordered it I had no idea it came with a DVD player. I haven't used it yet, but I thought that was a pleasant surprise. -I love love that I can plug in my USB to play music. -I love how light it is to carry. My old TV was a 19 inch bulky box screen that nearly killed my back each time I picked it up. -It's easy to set up, especially with your Digital Cable. Cons -The sound quality of playing your music from your USB won't be as great as a stereo or my computer speakers (obviously), but it does the job. -I hate how the plug has to be plugged into the back of the TV. It often comes out and doesn't stay plugged in. That was a pet peeve from the beginning, but if you don't move your TV that often it isn't that big of a deal. Overall it was a great TV for the price. This is a very good LCD television for a bedroom or a kitchen. It only takes up a small amount of space and it only weighs about 10 pounds. Set up was very easy. The set up instructions were clearly written in the owner's manual. The owner's manual itself is well written. The picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is good. It is about what you would expect from a 19" LCD television. For the price of this LCD television, I have no complaints about the sound quality. The remote control is nicely made and it is easy to use. It uses AAA batteries (included). Overall, I highly recommend this LCD television. Read more
