I received a Acer Aspire 3000 Few weeks ago with no hard drive. It needed a iDE or also known as EIDE,PATA,ATA interface & After searching in amazon for quite a while I stumbled on the TOSHIBA MK8025GAS. like with anything i buy, i always read prior reviews and try to choose a reputable seller. In my case i got a great deal for a 80 GB NEW Hard drive for $31.00 Shipped from jsmcollectibles. As far as the Hard Drive itself it was a nicely slim OEM hard drive, meaning like with mostly all OEM you will get no screws,manuals,instructions or anything like that. I already knew that before ordering. installation itself was a breeze. I install the hard drive then reformatted the drive in NTFS and installed the Original Windows XP Operating System using the laptop original Product Keys. Purchased this hard drive to replace the failing hard drive in my Hp ZD7249CL. Installation was very straight forward. Remove old drive replace with new drive. No strapping options required. Hard drive will not format. It starts to format and about half way complete it quits. This dive is useless. I would like to return it. Read more

Well the hard drive screw holes dont match on the plastic cover, but I just put 2 more screw holes in the plastic, problem solved. Read more
