Noisy. But, It has the capacity that I want and the speed that I want. I Transferred over 12 TB in less than a day and have indexed all the files and created numerous sub folders. It formatted and connected without any problems. Read more

It was sent quickly, works as designed, priced right, easy to add to my system, excellent quality for the price, very quiet, and easy to connect! It’s been ages since I used hitachi drives but their enterprise level drives really deliver! I’m impressed on how smooth it works, and how easy was to connect and use all that extra storage!!! It works cool and hasn’t shown any signs of errors so far! It’s timing in a desktop with tons of pictures, replacing a 2TB drive that now is the backup. I’m used to other brands and had just forgotten hitachi, but highly recommend them based on my experience with this one! Seller packed it very well, sent all the paperwork for warranty, and make all look neat! Kudos! Overall, a great experience with the seller and the product! I hope this helps you to make an educated decision! Let me know! Read more

Ordered this thinking I would be receiving a new Toshiba 10TB drive. First one was a rebranded Dell (made by Toshiba), but was dead on arrival. When powered up, computer didnt recognize and I could hear a constant clicking coming from the drive. Second one works juat fine, but on powerup I looked at the smart attributes, this drive has been poweres up for almost a year. Certainly wasnt buying a used drive. Buyer beware. Read more

I found one of these, left over from a previous project. It had operated under heavy use for several years and sat on a shelf for several more years. I found (removing old data) that was still shockingly reliable even after other HDs of the same size and age were dying or dead. So I decided that when I put together my new NAS I use the same brand and type if available. Turns out, with a few improvements, they still sell the same kind! So I populated my NAS with more of these. I was pleased not only with performance, but with the reasonable price! I highly recommend them. Read more

Installed this in my ubiquiti udm pro. It is a little loud but has been working fine for over a month. For the price it is a good deal I would say. Read more

I use this drive in an external enclosure to download files to it then move them to another location. It has been working very well and has been very reliable since it arrived. As for durability, that is to be determined as time goes by, but I don't expect any issues with that. HDD issues usually show up within the first month of service. Read more

I purchased this drive to use in my high end desktop rig (at home) mainly to store raw files of time lapse shots. The drive came in an anti-static bag inside a form-fitting airbag (see pic), which itself was snug inside the box, and is as protective as one can get in shipping delicate hard drives. After opening I immediately started a slew of stress tests before commissioning the drive in my computer. I first performed a 24 hour continuous random seek test (see pic) which showed an average seek time of 12 ms and no abnormal behavior. Temperature variations are within normal range, and only due to changes in day and night ambient temperatures (~85 F ambient temperature at the hottest). Next I performed 3 pairs of write+read tests on the drive where the data was written and read consecutively. This took 115 hours to complete (see last 3 pics, I left it running while on a weekend trip out of town) and everything passed with no errors. Again temperature variations were due to day/night time ambient temps, but overall stayed well below dangerous levels. Max read and write rates were ~265 MB/s (using the convention 1 MB = 1000 KB, not Windows which is 1 MB = 1024 KB) using Crystal Disk Mark. Noise-wise it is actually pretty quiet relatively speaking, about on par with my WD Black drives. In conclusion I'm quite pleased with it, will update if anything changes. Read more
