My 3 year old son is under average yet I still got him size 5. Why, because the other sizes are either too tight and uncomfortable or just too small. The size 5 also have a bit of a wiggling room for his growth spur. As far as durability goes, I can't say yet how good it will be. If it rips before my son grows out of it then I'll be back to deduct some points. If say 2 or 3 years from now when your reading this as of 12/28/2020 and this haven't been edited then yes the durability is top notch.
