This is the second set the I have bought - this one is for a gift. I have had my original for many years and I bought it after watching a demonstration at our local county fair. The only difference between the two is the case. My original sharpener set came in a cool little leather pouch. The new one came in a plastic case - which works fine, I just like the leather case better. It comes with two sets of sharpening stones - one to sharpen the blade and the other to hone it to a fine edge. There are also two brass rods that are used as a safety device to prevent the user from getting cut if the knife should happen to slip off the sharpening stone. Each stone is tri-shaped and can be rotated to a fresh side to keep the wear to a minimum. The device is made so that even a novice can get great results. The correct sharpening angle is built into the holder so all you need to do is keep the blade straight and draw it back towards you from the heel of the knife to the point. With just a few strokes on each of the sharpening stones you'll have that fine edge that you were looing for. Read more
