Let me start by saying I love Tumi products -- I've been buying them for many years because I love the styling and the quality; simply first rate. I still have my Tumi Ducati that I bought about 15 years ago and absolutely love. I also recently purchased a Tumi carry-on that is great. Having said that, I didn't want to just give this luggage a pass because it is a Tumi. For the most part, it is merely a great big box, no frills whatsoever. Both sides have a zippered cover to separate one side from the other, fairly standard with most luggage. One, small angled zipper pocket on one of the section covers is the only place to put anything small. That's it. Now it is super light for its size. But of course once you fill it up, it gets heavier. And for those of us who pack perhaps more than we need, it does encourage us to pack even more. Specs say it weighs 10.8 lbs, and my Ducati weighs about 13.5, but feels heavier. A huge difference is the wheels. The 19 Degree Lite wheels are probably the best I've experienced. Really smooth. The Ducati wheels are fixed but was common back when I bought it. In addition, I'm only 5 feet tall, so I don't really even need to extend the handle as the top of the Lite comes to my hip. I can just push it along easily. All in all it's a very well made piece of luggage -- I wouldn't expect less from Tumi. But it's luggage I would only use if I were going somewhere for two weeks or longer and had no access to laundry facilities. Still keeping my Ducati for the vast majority of my long-term trips. Lastly, the price. A thousand dollars is a lot for a box, even a Tumi box. I'd price it more in the $700 range to make it more reasonable, but that's just me. Other Tumi products seem to be priced right for what is offered. The 19 Degree Lite is a little over priced for what you get. Read more

I purchased 2 carryon suitcases for around $600 each. The handle broke on both suitcases. It cost over $100 for shipping and repair of 1 suitcase. When the second handle broke, I took the money I would spend on shipping and repair and used it to purchase a highly rated (consumer report) suitcase at 1/6th the price of the Tumi. Read more

Excellent high quality suitcase. Super lightweight, maneuverability is unmatched, The handle is excellent and comfortable. The wheels are great, It rolls effortlessly. Build quality is top notch, heavy-duty, solid and sturdy. It’s an attractive suitcase, compliments magnet. I recently used it for an 5 day trip, Great size, I was able to pack all the clothes that I needed, toiletries, miscellaneous items and 2 laptops plus their equipment in this suitcase.
