I have tried all sorts of microwave rice cookers. I use it for more than just rice: oatmeal, pasta, other grains... Anything that cooks in a similar manner. Where Tupperware succeeds and *all* of the other ones fail is this one does not make a mess in the microwave from boiling over. I have this big one. I also have the smaller individual sized one. I'm buying at least one more of each to have as backup since Tupperware is not going to be around much longer. Yes I could buy an electric rice cooker or I could make rice on the stove, however, there are disability reasons why those options are not practical for me. Read more

I have one of these from way back when I attended a Tupperware party, at least 20 years ago. My daughter wanted a microwave rice cooker and I made the mistake of purchasing a different kind... She used it, but it just didn't work as well. I was so pleased to see this on Amazon! She is thrilled with it, and I know it will last just like mine has. We made a mistake that "killed" our old one. The instructions that came with this one are way beyond our understanding. We made absolutely perfect Basmati rice using 1 cup rice, 2 1/4 cups of water, and a little sprinkle of salt. Put the rice maker in the microwave oven and set on "high" for five minutes. Then set it for 45 minutes at 30%. No need to open the microwave during the process. No mixing. No fuss at all! Read more
