This vanilla scented “rescue cream” arrived in a banged-up container and leaking within it’s packaging. It’s quite thick and could easily be put into a replacement jar. I’m a fan of vanilla fragrance; however, this lotion has an additional aroma that I can’t quite place. Perhaps it’s the natural scent of the Dhatelo Seed Oil of which I’m unfamiliar. It also leaves a protective silicone-like finish on the skin. It’s rather expensive but you get a decent sized jar and a little goes a long way. It’s not your typical moisturizing lotion and would be better used on especially dry areas of the body. For me, it’s not one I’d use every day. Read more

I really wanted to like this - it's winter, I want to moisturize everything, but this is not a light scent. It's very noticeable, and neither of us in the household love the smell. Kind of vanilla crossed with patchouli. Sad :-( I thought the earthy / woody tones would be nice, but I've now googled the smell and learned that the overall scent resemblance of dhatelo seed oil to patchouli is "often noted". My partner called it a grandmother scent, which I could also see (funny, another reviewer commented on that as well). I did try some on my hands - just about unavoidable because the container bottom split along the side (mess contained bc of the extra plastic bag wrapped around it). I do feel it moisturized well - my hands feel soft the day after. But for a while after application my hands/fingers felt greasy. Probably a better nighttime cream. Read more
