I sleep on the floor by choice, and was originally sleeping on a makeshift bed made of chair cushions, but that was not very comfortable. So I ordered this for additional padding and have had it about a month now and can say that so far it has held up well, and has definitely improved the softness of my sleeping arrangements. By itself it would not be sufficient for sleeping on the floor, but with the sleeping mat I recently also ordered, it has made for a very comfortable bed. Made my old mattress very comfortable. Fit well, but doesn't stay in place the best. I didn't notice any smells or off gassing. Looks decent and the padded texture is nice. My child jumps on the bed a lot, and I haven't noticed any damage. Would be a perfect rating if the straps for retention would stay in place a bit better. Very nice addition for the price though. opened it ( didn't let it "air out") and slept on it that night. I believe that the reasons this product got bad reviews is because of the sleepers preference. IF YOU prefer a soft bed this is not for you. If you prefer a FIRM BED this IS FOR you. I personally like an extremly firm bed. I was distracted by the lack of thickness and said to myself, " I will take it back in the morning" however after sleeping through the night, I LOVE IT!!!! Read more

Got this (the twin 700 GSM version- for 24.99 at time of order) for my 12 year old son's mattress as it's getting a little worn down, and since it's in an ikea loft bed it just sits on slats on the ground-so I want to make him more cozy but since I'm beyond broke....I can't afford much. I feel like it's essentially just a semi fluffy blanket sewn into a quilt like pattern w/some elastic straps added. Nothing special, so to me the price point should be lower. It doesn't seem like a long lasting, big improvement to a mattress the way they style it in the description. It doesn't have enough substance for THAT lol. It DOES, however, add a slight puffy barrier between you & the mattress so if that's all you need to make your bed perfectly cozy then this'll be great! If you need more than that and can afford it- I'd recommend getting a thicker, maybe gel type topper instead (or both for the best results!) though. Pics: I pulled the mattress out to show you what it looks like on bed without anything extra. FWIW: my 12 yr old did put it on himself at first and said "it was really easy to do" (coming from a boy that acts like putting on a fitted sheet is a big chore....that says something lol!) TLDR; just ok, adds a little cushion but doesn't really fix a troublesome mattress. Best for an already decent bed. Read more
