We bought this toilet brush & plunger unit for the easy, streamlined appearance. However, the top of the holder became unsightly after approx 3-4 months with a dirty, tarnished look. I cannot get the top clean. The unit was not in a wet or dirty area of the bathroom, but it became ugly too soon after purchase. The "tin" "nickel " finish is fake and the unit is no longer presentable to leave out in the bathroom when guests are over. The toilet brush held up well after many uses, we have never had to use the plunger, luckily. Read more

IF a toilet brush and plunger CAN be attractive, then, this one is! Most sets are plastic and very cheap-looking; they don't hold up. This set is metallic type and will be very durable. ****UPDATE: I still stand by my previous review, but while it is clean, useful and beautiful, I put it down from 5 stars to 1 because it has a horrible and painful cigarette smell. I bought this second set because of the advantages of using the first set for a year or two. When I unpackaged it, the bathroom was quickly filled with the smell of someone who had just finished smoking a couple of really cheap cigarettes. Both my son and I got headaches within 10 minutes because we have chemical sensitivities. This didn't happen with my first set at all. It is now in the garage. I hope that a good airing will make it usable, because it really is a good product, but if it doesn't, I will be forced to return it, and I really don't want to. ****ORIGINAL REVIEW that still stand, except for the advent to the chemical odor. What a wonderful way to make an icky cleaning tool classy and discrete. I wish I had found these years ago. It is easy to use and easy to clean. One thing I really hated about the toilet brush/holder designs that were basically cups was that they promote algae and can collect water.
