This mask is THE BEST out there!!!! Other masks do NOT do everything this one does.
This is not the first mask I tried here on Amazon, but it definitely is the last!! I was very recently diagnosed with MGD. Devastated, I began my heated eye mask hunting journey. You learn the things you dislike, or require, very quickly, when purchasing other masks. I realized, through trial and error, that I needed something VERY soft for the eye area since I will be using it twice a day. Also, it needs to be sanitary. This is a MUST. I have to be able to wash it thoroughly. The heat needs to be well regulated. The weight need to be sufficient to mold to the eyes, and the strap around the head needs to be simple/easy to use. AND, I must be able to dampen it for moist heat. The other eye masks offer one thing, or another, but not everything. This one is perfect!!! The fabric is so soft, velvety and plush, and extremely comfortable on delicate skin. Will not pull, tug, or scrape. The heating element pad, cords, and pink quartz crystal pouch (yes crystals!), are all removable from the mask so that the mask, itself, can be washed. The crystals, I feel are more sanitary than flaxseed and they hold the warmth well. They also add weight to the mask so it molds nicely to the eyes and stays in place. Note: The crystal pouch can also be placed in the fridge for cold therapy. The mask head strap is velcro and by far much easier to adjust and re-adjust without having to remove mask to do so. You can mist the mask with water for moist heat knowing it won't affect internal parts and that the mask can later be sanitized by washing it. I would recommend by hand in sink or bowl and hang to dry. Finally, it's designed and sold by a small group of eye care providers who have worked with dry eye patients for decades. These are people in the exact field needed to aid those of us with meibomian gland disease. Just look at the name of the product, it says it all. And their customer service is OUTSTANDING!! They are kind and in the business of helping and understanding those of us who suffer with this lifelong condition. I reached out to them with a question, they were so accommodating and they made me feel comfortable like a friend they were helping out, not just a customer. Don't think about it, just get it.
