Universal 3 in 1 Bathtub Drain Stopper Bathtub Drain Hair Catcher Pop-up Tub Stopper with Effective Filter Basket

We are renting an older house that’s a little run down. We didn’t have any drain stoppers since they were all missing from the bath tubs upon moving in, and I have really long hair which is not a good thing in older homes with sensitive pipes. So I figure why not solve both issues with this drain stopper/strainer combo? The size is perfect, it fit snugly into my standard size bathtub drain. Functionality-wise it is sound: loose hair goes in the little basket to be removed later, and by pressing the stopper closed, it works like a standard bath tub plug and allows you to fill the tub. Very good value for money; at the local hardware store a similar device was double the price and looked much more flimsy because it was made of plastic which will definitely fall apart over time with consistent use. While giving my kids a bath earlier, the seal was airtight and no water was leaking out which leads me to believe all drained water will go through the strainer to catch all hair and gunk to be disposed of later, keeping drains clear and the plumber away. I am using one in each bathtub and strongly recommend one for anybody who has long hair and would like to keep the pipes clear of clogs. Update after roughly 4 weeks of use: these things clog up ALL THE TIME. But the thing is, I’m happy about that. In fact I’m THRILLED because it’s all hair and junk I can put in the garbage and it’s not in my drains clogging them up. So obviously they work very well and seal to my tub/showers really nicely. Good quality, easy to install, and effectively captures hair and debris. I am using it daily but find that water flows slowly out of the tub and emptying the small basket requires unscrewing the top and using tissue and finger to remove the debris from the basket. Hope to find another alternative that is easier to empty and does not limit water draining out. Read more

Love how easy and convenient this stopper is. No need to install anything new, just plop it in and it works like a charm! I haven’t noticed any leaking. This is an easy 5 star review. My old traditional drain stopper in my shower/tub was clogged and I couldn't snake it out. I tried taking out the drain stopper and the set screw was stripped. Basically I had to unscrew the entire drain stopper to find the hair clogged in the drain. So, my options were to buy another traditional drain stopper to screw in, and have it corrode over many years and run into the same issue... or try this one out which is easy to remove and clean. This one fits snug (offers three different gasket sizes to fit most standard drain sizes), and doesn't leak any water like my old one would do. Easy to remove and clean hair clogs. The only downfall, which isn't a downfall, is that I find myself having to remove hair like once a week. Like I said, that's not a downfall since it's doing it's job and catching hair from going down the actual drain. I guess one very minor complaint is that when it's open and being used for showers, is that it does drain a little slowly, even when fully cleaned from any hair. For me, that's no big deal. If I ever lost this, or were to renovate my bathtub and need a new drain stopper, I would purchase this in a heartbeat. Way better design than the traditional hardware. Read more

This was easy to install. Just pull out the other drain and slide this one in. Quality is good and the seal holds fine when taking a bath. Beware that if you use foamy soap or shampoo, it will backup easily. It clogs up almost instantly when washing my hair so defeats the purpose. Read more
