I recently picked up the GuanTing 12 V 2 A (24 W) universal adapter for a couple of small gadgets in my home—an LED strip light and a WiFi router—and I’m genuinely impressed. It’s turned out to be a smart, no-fuss power solution with more reliability than many budget adapters I’ve tried. What I Loved Universal input (AC 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz) means I can use it both at home and abroad without needing a separate converter. The output (DC 12 V at up to 2 A) gives me plenty of headroom for devices that normally draw around 1.0–1.5 A—a comfortable margin for continuous use. The adapter feels well built. The housing is solid, the barrel connector is snug and tight, and I found no wobble or loose fit when plugged in. Safety features are clearly included—things like over-voltage, short-circuit and over-current protection are listed in the specs. Versatility was a bonus: it came with multiple interchangeable plug tips in some listings, making it easy to match different devices. Performance has been flawless so far—my LED strips are bright and stable, and the router shows no signs of power sag, noise, or overheating after hours of runtime. Final Verdict If you’re hunting for a reliable, affordable 12 V adapter for smaller electronics—routers, cameras, LED lights, and other gear—the GuanTing 12 V/2 A unit is a solid pick. It offers clean, steady power, built-in protections, and versatility. I’d definitely buy it again or recommend it to anyone who needs a dependable 12 V power solution. Read more

I have a media streaming box that stopped working, but it was the power supply that had gone out. The streamer power requirements are 5V 2A DC. I looked around my home for a spare power supply, but they all had higher voltage, which could fry my equipment. So, I had to find this one for these specs. The barrel dimension on the default tip was a match in size to the power port on my device and I ended up not needed the additional tips. However, I will keep them in case I need them on another project at some point. The USB tips are handy for using to charge mobile devices or a Raspberry Pi device. This power supply has my device running again, and was a simple, affordable solution. One thing to note is that the power brick has a blue LED that is quite bright. If you are using this in a bedroom or area where you want to keep the lights low, this may be a nuisance. Read more

I can't say anything is wrong with this charger, but it caused a serious fire in my home and I can't explain why. I got this to replace a charger for a head-light that had gone bad. It has the same specs, 15V, 1A, so I thought I was safe (see images of each). I plugged it into my light to charge yesterday afternoon. I was in the same room, my home office, with it for several hours and there was no indication of a problem. When I entered my office this morning (the door is always kept shut), there was a strong smell of an electrical fire. Next I noticed there was debris (pieces of foil and other charred bits) all over the room. Then I saw the head-light on my corner desk. The battery compartment was totally burnt and melted down. It either exploded or the fire was so intense that it carried debris all over the room. The specs on the two chargers being totally the same, I am at a loss as to why this happened. Perhaps there was some necessary logic in the original charger that this new charger doesn't have. I feel fortunate that my house didn't burn down. The fire was right next to a stack of papers and very close to a lot of flammable stuff. Read more
