Very stiff, but also very sturdy, used this to replace one that a tripod came with. This is exactly what you expect and maybe a little better. Ironically I got a new tripod and it came with one that looked exactly like this, but with slightly less stiff springs. Can't say anything other than you don't really need to pay more for this, it's cheap and it works and it would be stupid to pay more than $4 for something like this. I'm happy. Read more
