The bells performed as expected. They are loud enough to hear but not overly annoying. My dog however, never caught onto the process. He figured out that if I said we were going outside that it was also time to clobber the bells on the way out of the door, but never was able to associate that he needed to be the initiator and ring the bells when he needed to go potty.
