I’ve been using this ultrasonic cleaner for my retainers and it works really well. The 48kHz ultrasonic cleaning does a great job getting into small crevices and removing buildup that brushing alone can’t reach. The multiple cleaning modes are convenient depending on how deep of a clean you want, and the machine is very quiet while running. It’s also compact and portable, so it doesn’t take up much space on the counter and can easily be packed for travel. Overall, it’s simple to use and keeps dental appliances fresh and clean. I’ve been using this an Invisalign tray cleaner for at least 5 months now and I really like it. I picked it up over a different model I’d been using for a few years because it’s more compact and has a detachable cord - this makes it easier to pack in my bag when traveling. I only use the 300 second + UV setting and I think it does a good job as my trays feel clean and fresh every evening when I put them in. The cost is on point for the convenience and cleaning power. I might wait for a sale if you don’t need it right away, but I’ve been happy with it. I had my doubts over the claim if UV light for cleaning (I suspected just marketing nonsense with colored LEDs) but I gave it the highlighter and sunscreen test and it appears to be generating UV (see attached image). I am writing a review for this because most of the other reviews seem to be regarding retainers-and I purchased this to use on my dentures. Yes, it works and it works great. Cleans brilliantly with no added cleaners just water. Seems very well made and I think it was a bargain for the price. It looks really nice too-very sleek (I got the black model). This ultrasonic dental appliance cleaner is just what I was looking for. It is small, compact, easy to use and easy to clean. I use this to clean Invisalign retainers. The water and vibration alone will not clean your retainers as well, you definitely need to use Efferdent or another retainer cleaning tablet. I have found that it is best to place the tablet in the water and let it dissolve before adding the dental appliances. I use the first mode which cleans for three minutes and uses UV light to kill any germs. I’m not sure that any dental cleaning machine will clean really well without a cleaning tablet, so that was not a big deal to me to use one. If I could give this 4 1/2 stars, I would, due to the fact that there is no battery option. The cord can become a little annoying if you only have a small space on your sink top or do not have easy access to an outlet. I'm very impressed with this cleaner. First of all, it's super easy to use. When I get up in the morning, I fill the container, plop my night guard in there, choose a setting and ignore it until bedtime. I generally use the 10 minute setting that uses UV light. It is very effective and does an excellent job of cleaning. How do I know this? Because you can see the gunk that comes off of the night guard in the left over water. I used it on an older night guard and got all kinds of gunk off of it. I used to use denture cleaning tablets but I didn't use them on a daily basis. Even when I did use them, they didn't remove as much as this ultrasonic cleaner does. I use this every day so I have wonderfully clean dental appliances. I've also used it to clean my tongue scraper. You have to leave the lid open to do this as the cleaning space isn't that large. You can also use it for gold jewelry and jewels. The size is small enough for me to leave on the counter and being able to see it makes it so that I use it daily. Oh, and it has openings so you can clean the heads of your toothbrushes. fits our electric toothbrush head. also does a good job to clean my bite guard every morning while i brush my teeth. also, it has holes on top you can put a manual toothbrush in and they stand upright to get cleaned. you can clean jewelry in it. very handy for so much more. also, very smooth inside to wipe clean after rinsing out used water. go ahead and get it, you wont be sorry. as you can see by my photos, the water is a bit cloudy after we first rinsed our brush heads like normal, then put in here to see what was missed. wish i had the lights to keep my bite guard clear over the years, its stained now and I will see if it cleans better over time with more cleanings. and i should mention, its not very loud, just a low vibration sound. Definitely worth the purchase! I needed a means to clean and sterilize my retainers and toothbrushes. This does the job. I end up making myself sick with the cold and flu by not sterilizing my toothbrushes and other dental appliances. I end up missing a lot of work and having a lot of down time. This device not only cleans off the microscopic residue left behind by toothpaste, it also sterilizes everything with its built in UV light. This unit has been worth its weight in gold in preventing a lot of my illnesses. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Read more
I really like how quiet this ultrasonic cleaner is — it runs very smoothly and isn’t disruptive at all. The price point also felt reasonable for the quality. I received it on day 4 of wearing my Invisalign. It did not remove the existing stains from that retainer, which was a bit disappointing since the advertising gave me the impression it might handle light staining. However, it has done an excellent job keeping my next set of retainers very clean. I personally use half of a retainer cleaning tablet each time for added freshness, though I don’t think it’s necessary — I prefer the scent. Overall, it works very well for maintenance cleaning. I’m giving it 4 stars because it didn’t remove pre-existing stains as I had expected, but I’m happy with how well it keeps my retainers clean moving forward. Oh!
