I read some of the 1-star reviews (I always do that), and thus had some misgivings about the charger's inner electronics (sparks or overheating), about its ability to charge two items at once, and the speed at which it would charge. However, I've had good luck with three previous Anker products, and the 5-star reviews far outnumbered the lower ratings, so I bought it. I don't understand the complaints of some reviewers about cable-length - THERE IS NO CABLE! I already had the cables I needed, so no problem. I plugged it in , and plugged USB A cables into it for two items: my iPhone SE (2nd gen) which was at 12%, and an Anker PowerCore Slim1000 power bank which was down to 1 (of 4) power-level indicator lights. Now please understand, I am NOT an expert guru power-user of electronics...just a normal schlubb like most of you - so I don't know how fast a charger needs to operate to be considered a "fast-charger". But using this tiny 2-port charger, I got the iPhone up to 100% in about 70 minutes, and the Anker power-bank up to 4 indicator lights in about 2 hours. That is faster than my previous wall-plug charger. So to me? ...yeah, it's fast enough for me. It didn't spark, didn't heat up, didn't smoke, didn't whistle Dixie...it just charged the two items at a good clip, so for me, it's 5 stars. Read more

Good charger, but I like the older version better

Anker chargers have been great in the past. This one seems to work well, however I'm not super happy that they changed the design from the ones a couple years ago which I liked better. The plug now folds in, which I guess is OK for those travelling, doesn't do much for me. The blue LED light is much bigger and brighter now than the older one, which I don't like as it lights up the room in the dark and is kind of overkill. I put a piece of tape over it. Overall, it works, so I'll give it 4 stars. Read more

Speedy charging for all my devices, highly recommend - loved the one I got for downstairs so much I came back for this second order to have one upstairs. There's no USB-C port, so if that's a deal breaker for you this isn't your charger - personally I have so many USB-A- to-whatever cables lying around for devices old and new that I don't need a C port. (By the time all those cables wear out they'll probably have come up with yet another port type!) Read more
