I have a computer with only two older, traditional type A USB ports. Unfortunately, one of my two ports quit working so I desperately need a splitter to handle all my accessories. This WinRaybot splitter gave me 1- 4 ports which would ordinarily have been sufficient. Though it features a USB C port the included adapter allows interfacing with type A. I assume manufacturers are phasing out the USB A, as nearly everything new on the market seems to comes with a USB C ports now. I wouldn't mind this, but there's not one universal USB C size port that fits all my C style electronics. Regardless, this splitter does come with an adapter to use with my older, traditional-style port. The problem here, is it doesn't it fit tight and wiggles around, making accessories (keyboard, mouse, speaker, headphone, etc) power on and off repeatedly-kind of frustrating! I am planning on updating my computer soon to utilize the male USB C without this flimsy adapter arrangement. Read more

The USB Hub Splitter 3.0 1 to 4 was purchased to provide additional and compact USB A connectivity for a laptop computer. Comments following review and testing: 1. The splitter arrived sealed in a resealable plastic bag with 4 each USB A 3.0 female ports and a USB A/C connector - no instruction manual and one should not be needed. 2. The majority of the assembly exterior is fabricated from rigid metal (aluminum ?) with a heavy plastic end opposite of one USB A port where cable attaches - Very Nice. 3. The cable connecting the body to the USB A/C connectors is 5" long and made of heavy Very Good quality material - rigid yet pliable - and connections to both body and USB A/C connector is very solid. 4. The USB C male connector is heavy plastic/metal, well connected to the cable and appears Very Good quality. 5. The USB A female to USB C male is connected to the cable with a rubber lanyard and is also heavy plastic/metal and appears Very Good quality. 6. All assembly/connector seams are tight and smooth. 7. All 4 USB female ports appear well anchored within the assembly and have a blue interior which denotes a 3.0 port. 8. The assembly is very well manufactured/assembled and solid, and although small and light, has a "heft" and feel to it that infers quality. 9. Placement of both A and C male connectors into a computer was smooth and as secure as other USB connections. 10. Insertion of USB A cords into the 4 female USB A ports was smooth and secure. 11. Insertion into USB A 3.0 AND 2.0 computer ports generated audible acceptance from Windows and a blinking blue light on the splitter, allowing charging of components as well as Very Good data transfer speed on large files in the computer 3.0 port, and Good data transfer speeds on the computer 2.0 port - Nice. Form, Fit and Function of the Hub Splitter is Very Good and could elevate to Excellent if the durability, longevity and performance prove as expected. Value is also Very Good at this price point - the splitter is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and receives the full 5 STAR rating - Very Pleased. This is WAY better than competing products, and I say that objectively due to one feature: EVERY SINGLE PORT IS USB 3.0 on this unit! That means every device you connect to it will be operating super fast at the same time! Many other similar products available today will advertise "USB 3.0" but when you take a closer look (or sadly, after you've already ordered it), you end up finding out that only ONE of the ports is 3.0 and the rest are slower. NOT WITH THIS ONE! Again, EVERY SINGLE port is nice and fast USB 3.0! TALK ABOUT A GAME-CHANGER! I have two external solid state drives on my laptop. I also sometimes use a wireless mouse. I've been recently working on a massive archiving project and having to connect my external DVD drive, old SSDs and even an old Iomega Zip Drive to this laptop. I also connect an audio interface sometimes, because I'm a music producer. Oh yeah, and sometimes I use my laptop to charge other devices, especially when on the go, such as my phone or laptop. Needless to say, I'm ALWAYS running out of USB ports and having to battle with myself as to which devices to disconnect so I can connect something else. NOT ANYMORE!! Now I can have everything I reasonably want connected at the same time. And since every single port is USB 3.0, I don't have to sacrifice speed whatsoever! The build quality is not cheap plastic, either. This seems to be made of a nice hard metallic material. BUILT TO LAST and take a beating! The cord seems extra thick, so less likely to short out with long term use. The included adapter gives you the option to plug this into a USB 3.0 port or a USB-C port. It's always good to have options! And that makes this more universally-compatible, no matter what your preferred setup is. All in all, I can't recommend this thing enough. If I could give it 10 stars, I most certainly would!! And I'm a tech person so I'm not easy to please. Sometimes I suggest to continue looking, when a product seems just "OK."
