The elastic is strong and holds in place like a fitted sheet. The grey color is sleek and neutral, which is a nice change from the usual white protectors. I was expecting a normal mattress cover and so I was shocked at how heavy the package was when it arrived. I was even more shocked when I opened the package and found this beautiful, thick, fluffy and soft mattress cover. It can easy well be used as a bed spread, it does not leak and dries super fast when wet. It's very quiet, absolutely no plastic sound, easy to install and use, no strong smell.
