Loud Horrible Beeping

ShoonaMarch 1, 2025

It works fine and was easy enough to set up, but every 30 minutes it makes this absolutely horrible loud beep. I'm not sure why it does that, I went through all the trouble shooting in the manual and nothing really changed it. It does an ok job as a filter, not the best but not the worst but I really just can get past the loud beeping. I don't think I will be keeping it. Read more

Loud Beeping Makes it Unusable

J.H.May 8, 2025

This purifier works fine, although I'm not convinced it's as quiet as they advertise. The issue with it, however, is the loud beeping it makes every half hour or so. I have not figured out a reason for this nor any way to stop it. It makes it nearly unusable. I have Vacmaster shop vacs which I like, so I was disappointed in this product. Read more

Misleading product description

ShortcakeDecember 24, 2024

This air purifier’s product description makes a few strong claims and these claims are the reason I wanted one. Specifically, and primarily, the low noise produced when operating. When I read “23 decibels”, I wanted one really bad because mine is loud. I barely got it out of the box, removed the plastic around the filter, put it back in and immediately marched it into my room. I was quite bummed when I turned it on. Keeping in mind this purifier has several levels of fan speed (which failed to enter my mind after I saw the “23 decibels” comment), and with increasing fan speed comes increased noise. Well, in my opinion, they must have been describing only the lowest setting for fan speed and probably should have specified this. What bothers me is a deliberate repeated insertion of the idea that THIS purifier is noticeably more quiet than others. I have owned a few large-room purifiers from well-known companies. In my opinion, ALL I have owned and used are very quiet on their low fan speed setting. Equally, ALL are loud on their highest fan speed setting. That said, this purifier is no different, and certainly not more quiet, than any other I have owned. In fact, with regard to the higher two settings on any large room purifier, I would wager this one is slightly louder than average. Another selling point is the square footage covered by this air purifier. The description states it can filter over 1300 sq ft hourly. Folks, that one is difficult to believe. Where is the consideration for walls and footprint of a home? An hour is a big claim when also claiming over 1300 sq ft are cycled through. This purifier is not a bad product. Its filter size is impressive and by far the largest I have used. The larger filter offers more surface area for purifying circulated air. I am no scientist, but my common sense says it can do a great job - just not quite the 1-hour 1300+ sq ft promise. As a consumer, and likely I am not alone in thinking this, whenever a product really is a good product but its selling points were embellished, I am not a happy nor satisfied consumer. If ever it does something unexpected (makes a weird noise) I will remember the embellishments and I will question seller intentions and quality of product. Mentioning repeatedly how quiet it is was, at best, misleading. It produces an average, or slightly above average, level of sound. Period. Read more

Hard to know if it's working

s3hochMay 12, 2025

Have used this for several months now and it's relatively quiet, easy to use, and not so large that it stands out. I'm not sure how to quantify if it's working though. The item is nicely packed, nice looking and easy to setup. A bit on the heavy side, and some people may require some assistance to move it around. Our air does seem to benefit from the usage but often we turn it off as we're watching TV. No major problems however, after several months, and I can recommend the product. Read more

Beeps randomly

Zacmac911February 18, 2025

For some reason this filter beeps randomly. I have tried different settings and still the same. It has done it from the beginning. I would like to give it full 5 stars but the beeping gets under my skin. Read more

DO NOT BUY IF YOU LIVE IN CALIFORNIA

Kay MDecember 27, 2024

Edit: Not only are the filter exceedingly difficult to find, they can't even ship to california because they don't meet the minimum standards. That is absolutely not okay. If I could lower my rating from a 1 star I would. I personally don't enjoy when my purifier sounds like a smoke alarm going off in the middle of the night. I had to take it out of my bedroom because it would wake us up every single time I used it. That alone makes me not want to use it. Also, I can't figure out where to get replacement filters. When I ordered it, there was no replacement filters listed anywhere. Read more

Could be better...and weird beeping?

Ron BurgundyJanuary 2, 2025

Price-to-Performance mix is underwhelming. I have experience with some leading competitor air purifiers, and this unit has some real shortcomings. Pros: It’s a compact unit with a clean design. The filter installation is super-easy through a quarter-turn door in the bottom. It uses one drum-shaped HEPA with a fine mesh around the pleated filter media. It’s easy to remove, dust-off, and reinstall. Controls are easy to use and there’s a sleep timer to shut off the unit after 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. Cons: Fan speed increase is too rapid. There’s a “night time” fan setting that is virtually silent, but the airflow is really faint. Stage 1 is very quiet, but airflow seems light. Stage 2 is loud, and Stage 3 is super loud. The noise increase from Stage 1 to Stage 2 is dramatic. The goal with any air purifier is to find a balance between good airflow (and filtration) and an acceptable amount of noise. I feel this unit needs more fan Stages to fine tune your noise tolerance. Random beeping? The unit lets out a loud 2-3 second beep every hour or so. I couldn’t find anything in the manual or FAQ to explain this periodic beep – but it’s super annoying if you’re trying to sleep with it running. The beep seems to happen day or night. Illumination button only turns on/off the blue light on the front. The bright LED controls remain lit and may cast light on the wall in a dark room. Overall, a clean design, but it needs more fan speeds and the unexplained beeping needs to be eliminated. There are better options out there. Read more

LOUD!

Todd SJanuary 28, 2025

It pushes a lot of air, but you pay for it with the sound....I'd only use it in a high volume area where the noise won't bother you. For the size of it, it will only filter a good sized room, but at the end of the day it was just too loud. Read more
