I have a 3 car garage and finding the right vacuum has been a challenge to say the least. I was tired of lugging my old shop vac around. It was so cumbersome to use and the hose wasn't long enough to reach everything I needed to clean in my vehicles, much less around the rest of the garage. I spent what seems like hours searching online and finally discovered the Utility Vac from Vacumaid. The picture on the listing had me sold even before I read the details. I saw a steel canister along with a long hose and several attachments. I also read where you can add additional inlets so I ordered the 1 inlet kit with my Utility Vac purchase. The order came in and the packing was great. Once I got the vacuum hung on the wall, I couldn't wait to use it and it was beyond my imagination how powerful the suction was. I cleaned all of my vehicles and puttered around the garage and cleaned everything I could reach. The hose was lightweight but seems durable and easy to use. The attachments are all plastic and also seem very durable and look like they will last a long time. I mounted the hose hanger on the wall about 4 feet from the floor and the hose fits perfectly and keeps it neat and off the floor. Another project on my to do list is to expand the Utility Vac out with the additional inlet kit that I purchased. All I will need is a few sticks of schedule 40 pvc, a few fittings and low voltage wire to complete the job. I was excited at how clean and easy this Utility Vac is to use and it's made in the USA which is very important to myself and my family. I highly recommend this vacuum. Read more

What a great find! I searched and found this Utility Vac system on Amazon and after contacting the company's customer service department with a few questions that I had, I ordered this system on Amazon. They told me to call them if I had any further questions when it came time to install my vacuum. It's great to be able to speak directly with friendly and knowledgeable people these days. I had walled off my 3 car garage in order to build my woodworking shop. I was looking for a way to be able to use a vacuum system in the shop as well as connect it to the other two bays of my garage for cleaning my car and truck. This system checked all of the boxes for me. VacuMaid offers a 3 utility valve kit on Amazon that allowed me to expand my Utility vac in all of the areas I needed. All I had to provide was some 2" schedule 40 PVC pipe and a few fittings and low volt wire. Now I am able to plug a hose into any of the inlets and the system starts up automatically. I really like the idea of a long life motor (they say it will last 1500 hours) and the suction is incredible. Unlike my previous shop vac that was spitting out dust every time I used it, this Utility Vac uses a hepa bag that does a wonderful job of containing the dirt and dust. The hose and tools are first class and sturdy and should last a long time in my garage and shop. Best of all, the Utility Vac is made in the USA and carries a 5 year warranty so I can clean worry free. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone with a large garage or workshop, it's the best! You'll see I've posted a lengthy review for a similar product by this manufacturer. This product uses an fairly identical cannister and mount. It has a small 1-2 inch extension at the bottom that allows the cooling air for the motor to be draw in independently from the suction air. So this means that there is never a case where cooling air can be blocked. The motor and impeller seem a good bit quieter than the previous model as well. This unit has two inlets, not one - so that you can plug in the included hose as well as plumb your own workstations using ordinary PVC or similar tubing. I made the suggestion previously for VacuMaid to include fasteners to hold the lid down, and this model has those. It also has a mesh spacer that goes at the bottom to support the filter bag and ensure even, unobstructed airflow into the impeller inlet. All of these factors lead to improved, more consistent vacuum performance. One note I would have - the inlets on this machine are a tad small, as is the hose. I have mine plumbed with 2 inch PVC and a 2 inch ID hose with a shorter, 8-10 foot long "whip" at the end that is 1.5 inch ID. This produces far better suction and airflow than the 50 feet of included 1.25 inch ID hose that comes with the unit. I'd recommend using at least 1.5 inch ID or 1.75 inch OD hose with this unit. Its easy to find standard fittings and hose on Amazon, and those simply twist together (standard hoses have a screw-style wire that allows you to screw on rubber or plastic hose ends). Overall very pleased with this unit. Read more
