Excellent Basic Repair Kit, With One Exception...
Valentino woodwind pads and synthetic corks (and brass water key "corks") have been around for several decades. In the past, I've found them to work exceptionally well. Most importantly, they are quite durable and the pads are very easy to seat. About 15 years ago, I purchased an earlier version of the repair kit and eventually ran out of all the pads that require routine replacing on clarinets and saxophones. The pads and repair tools in the present version of the kit represent the quality that I've expected and found in Valentino's products. There is, though, a small problem with this repair kit: it contains no tenon corks or bumper corks. I find this to be curious, because it seems that I have to replace those perhaps just as often as pads and thumb rest cushions. I believe that there is a larger Valentino kit that includes tenon corks, but they really should be in this one, too. Read more
