Amazing!!

I love this stuff, it smells good but has no perfume or irritants for my skin, it has not caused any acne. It already is helping my dark spots and is such a good deal for what the product is. It is super smooth and not sticky at all which is what I wanted. I also already love all vanicream products so this was a plus to find this product in the same brand. Overall it has had great effectiveness and I love the quality. I will be repurchasing as soon as I run out. Also I am super picky with skin products as I have eczema and like the most sensitive skin on the planet, so take that how you will! Read more

Gentle yet effective, perfect for sensitive skin!

I’ve tried so many vitamin C serums that irritated my sensitive skin, but Vanicream’s version is a total game-changer. It’s free from dyes, fragrance, parabens, and all the harsh stuff, so it feels incredibly gentle and soothing while still delivering great brightening and antioxidant benefits. The serum absorbs quickly without any sticky residue, and my skin looks more even-toned and radiant after just a few weeks of use. I also love that it doesn’t cause any redness or breakouts, which is rare for me with vitamin C products. If you have sensitive skin and want a clean, no-nonsense vitamin C serum that actually works, this is the one to try. Highly recommend! Read more

Gentle, Non-Irritating Vitamin C Serum That Actually Feels Good

The media could not be loaded. This is such a great vitamin C serum if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin. It uses THD ascorbate, which is gentle but still effective, and I love that it has no smell; definitely not that weird “hot dog water” scent some vitamin C products have. I apply it to clean, dry skin in the morning, and it layers beautifully under my moisturizer and sunscreen. It is a milky white color, isn’t sticky at all and actually feels hydrating thanks to the added ceramides. My skin looks brighter and smoother, and I feel like it really works in synergy with my sunscreen for extra protection. If you want a vitamin C that’s simple, gentle, and easy to tolerate, this is a winner. Plus I love that it’s affordable and easy to find. Read more

Milky Serum, Clear on Skin

The media could not be loaded. This Vitamin C serum comes out milky but applies clear and smooth, with just a little needed each time. There’s a noticeable smell at first (even though it says fragrance-free), but it fades once on the skin. Leaves my face fresh, brighter, and easy to layer with moisturizer and sunscreen. Read more

If you have sensitive skin don't give up on vitamin c - go with THD Ascorbate (like this one)

I have sensitive skin when it comes to vitamin C. I heard an aesthetician on social media speak as though she knew my skin exactly by asking "have you given up on vitamin c because it breaks down your skin barrier?" I felt known lol. She then went on to say that I needed to go for vitamin c that is based off of THD Ascorbate. It's gentle and still effective. So, I gave this a go. This one, I can use daily with absolutely no adverse reactions. I put it on in the mornings after cleansing and then layer on my serums and other skincare items. It layers great. I do notice my skin feels a tad oily by the end of the day (10 hours of wear) so I'm ready to wash my face in the evening. It doesn't look oily, it just feels as though I want to wash my face. Which actually works for the better for me as I don't want to get lazy and stop my skincare. It does help to brighten my skin, has a nice light creamy texture (not stickiness), and lasts. I'm glad I caught wind of what type of vitamin c my skin needs, because I had given up on it. SO all in all - If you have sensitive skin don't give up on vitamin c - go with THD Ascorbate (like this one). Read more

Finally a Vitamin C product that doesn't burn me

Everytime I use a well-reviewed, well-regarded Vitamin C product, my skin will burn, sting, and turn red shortly after. It's no fault of the products, which are actually very beneficial to me, my skin just can't tolerate L-ascorbic acid. It's a shame because it's the most potent and proven form of Vitamin C in skincare but every time I think "well maybe this time I'll tolerate it..." I turn into a lobster. Vanicream's Vitamin C is the first one that hasn't given me a reaction! The main reason, from what I've found, is it uses THD Ascorbate, which is less irritating (but is likely less effective) than straight up L-ascorbic acid. I use it in the morning, and I buffer first with Vanicream moisturizer (I can use it by itself, but with actives I tend to always buffer with a moisturizer first). I use Vitamin C in the morning, and tretinoin (Altreno) at night. It's too early to say whether it's working its magic as I got it just a week ago and any improvement is probably in my head. However, so far, so good, and at least no harm has been done by using it. As a side note I highly recommend that you PATCH TEST before you slather this on your face. Not just because this is Vitamin C, but because all new skin care should be patch tested! Everyone's allergies and reactions to the same skincare product can be wildly different, and just because a product works for one person does not mean it will work for you. I usually patch test on the back of my hand first, then do a patch test on a small portion of my face (like a part of my chin or jawline), and if all is good in 24 hours, I will use it on the rest of my face. ** Update ** About 1.5 weeks in, I noticed that the area under my eyes where I've been applying the cream is looking more even, lighter, and a bit refreshed. If results are consistent, this Vitamin C will have a permanent place in my routine! ** Update ** It's been a month or more of using this - and I think it has a permanent place in my routine. THD Ascorbate is, from my anecdotal experience, much weaker than L-ascorbic acid which you will find in the SkinCeuticals and Timeless versions, but still hugely beneficial to me, especially considering I can ACTUALLY tolerate it on my skin. My skin tone is very even, has a kind of plump look and feel, and my face has a subtle glow! Would you notice it in a comparison photo? eh....probably not with my face. But it definitely shows in real life, and I'll take that over my usual lobster face. Read more

Good Solid vit c ceramide product

A very solid basic product that is good for the skin. % of vit c isn't particularly high. But that's okay. It's simply formulated. It's non irritating and has bonus ceramides. Unlikely to be very high concentration either. An absolute ease to use and incorporate into skincare regimen. Nice hygenic dispenser. I just adore that. Easy to travel with. No not nsrnse, no fuss no muss. I have repurchased many many times Read more
