it DOES work for muscle, joint pain. The problem is that it is so greasy and it stays this way on the skin, smells too. But if you dab it with kleenex a little, plus if you wash your hands (try using only one hand, you don't want to deal with TWO messy greasy smelly hands) OR use some latex etc. gloves, then you' will see it works. Also, it is better to keep rubbing it in for a minute or two, it gets warmer and gets in better. Compared to some other pain relief ointments, this one works better for me. Great value for your money too. Can't beat the value. Not super long lasting but it does give you relief. Read more

This product has a strong menthol like smell (think Vicks Vapo Rub). It does indeed contain no Bee Venom nor Viper Oil. This is the Brand Name. Closer reading on the jar says this: "Folk medicine has attributed bee venom and viper oil properties as analgesics. Veneno de abeja aciete de vibora brand does not contain bee venom or viper oil but contains and ingredient that is effective as an analgesic." The main ingredient, Methyl Salicylate, acts as a topical pain reliever by creating a cool sensation on the skin. It distracts us from the actual pain, and doesn't really reduce the pain at all. What I do like about the product is that the cooling effect is nice, and it does moisturize the skin. I am currently having heel pain and I put some on both heels and then put on socks. It does help a bit, but along with rest, cool compresses, and some ibuprofen, I feel much better. I would buy again, but just know that there is no actual bee venom or viper oil in it. Read more

Slight Relief on First Use I tried the Veneno de Abeja / Aceite de Víbora ointment for the first time. I did feel a little relief, but it was pretty mild. I’m hoping that with continued use the effects become stronger, but for now it provided only slight comfort. Read more
