Easy to use thermometer for sleeping baby. I found it easy to read at night and matched my other thermometers for accuracy. Would definitely buy again Read more
I feel this item, along with other thermometers like this item, sometimes can be accurate and sometimes and don’t feel they are. I use this to test my husbands temp periodically as he is in a skilled nursing and rehab facility. Read more
When measuring body temperature, this thermometer only differs 0.1 F with my other thermometer, and the readings are pretty consistent, so I think the thermometer is rather accurate. It has three modes - body, surface and room, and you need to set up tthe mode or it wouldn't work. You can turn off the sound, which is wonderful. The sound control button is not located in the center of the device as pictured - that button is actually to switch between F and C. The sound control is on the right side of the device, it is a white textured button that looks like you have to slide it, but you actually have to press it. The thermometer takes two AAA batteries. It is quick and easy and discreet if you need to take temperature of a sleeping child. The screen is backlit and shows large numbers, easy to read. Read more
Last year we ordered a Vicks brand non-contact thermometer. We like to keep one on each floor of the house though so we’re not fumbling in the night time, so we ordered this Veridian model. Although I’d never heard of the brand, I am impressed with this thermometer. Like the Vicks brand, this is so easy to set up and use. All you have to do is open the flap on the bottom of the unit and insert two triple A batteries. As with all thermometers, it’s important that the device has been in a room between 59 and 95 degrees F for the past half hour (and also the person has been in that temperature range too, otherwise it will affect the reading. Then all you have to do is hold the thermometer 1-2 inches away from the forehead right over the bridge of the nose and press the scan button on the top. While a typical person is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, not everyone has that as a normal temperature. Therefore, you should take your family members temperatures several times over the course of a week to get a baseline for everyone. That’s important so that when someone in your family has an elevated temperature, it may factor into how you react. What I like about this thermometer: - This is a simple to use no-contact infrared thermometer. Like that we don’t have to worry about covers or germs when used by multiple people in my family. - This thermometer is accurate when testing numerous times with readings, and gives the same readings as another thermometer that I have found to be very accurate. - This has a great green/yellow/red feature so it’s easy to tell if there’s a problem. Also there is a nice, easily red LED screen. - Love that this can do body, surface, or room temperature, and it’s easy to switch between three. - There is a beep to let you know the temperature is done, but what’s even better is there is an on/off button for the sound so you don’t disturb a sleeping or drowsy person. - There are 50 memory recall settings. The most recent temperatures are stored first - It comes with the necessary 2 AAA batteries, and they’re super easy to change out in seconds. - This thermometer is small and lightweight, easy to hold, and easy to operate the trigger. What I don’t like as much: - There is no concept of users / dates for the remembered temperatures. If you are switching between users or trying to keep track of when someone had a specific item, the best you can do is write down the information. -There is no way to export information to a cell phone or computer. Overall, this thermometer is accurate and is easy to use, with a fast reading and an easy to read screen. Although there are memory settings though, there isn’t a date and time option. Also this is currently less of a value than other brands but since it is very accurate, it is definitely something I would recommend. Read more
Batteries that came with were dead. Tends to run "lo" more often then not. Hubs and I always have the same temperature which I find hard to believe. Does not seem to match up to other thermometers we own. Not sure I trust this one. Read more
I liked that this came with batteries. It only took a minute and it was ready to use right out of the box. It's easy to set and use. It has 3 setting buttons on the front and is very intuitive to use. It quickly toggles between modes, and C/F. It also has a memory function. Once set like you want ( body, surface, or air), just aim it and press the big button, and it reads quickly. We use body and aim it at the forehead. If everything is fine, it just reads and stays great, but if there's a fever, it lets you know. It's small and does not take up much room in a purse or diaper bag. Mine fits ok on a shelf in my medicine cabinet on my vanity. Read more
I have never used a no contact thermometer before. This one gives you the option of using it for the body, room temperature and surface temperature. It is pretty easy to use, you push the scan button to turn it on and then when you see the dash lines press the scan button again about 1.2" to 2" away and it should give you a temperature. It gives me an accurate temperature for myself but it was getting a little wonky when I did it for my son, it was going from 100 to 97. It does say to wait one minute between consecutive readings to help ensure accuracy. I wasn't doing that. But I found it odd that it would go from 100 to 97 when I kept scanning my sons head. It was probably user error. It also says to not take a temperature while someone is sleeping as their temperature might be lower. Do not take a temperature reading within 30 minutes of being outdoors, exercising or bathing. Funny when people use these no touch thermometers on us when we enter buildings lately it is right after we come from outside. It also says the forehead should be clean and clear of excessive lotion or oil. So there is a lot of don't dos. Overall, I think it is an okay thermometer. I am not quite sure how accurate it is. Since I seem to get different readings every time I use it. Read more
