I bought this tripod for my Milwaukee 360 3-plane construction laser and Dewalt rotary laser due to the wide height range. I am not disappointed. Yep, made in China but very well built and not much plastic. Upper platform is all metal and thick, not thin or flimsy. Main frame is heavy duty and overall seems very well made. The leg pinch levers have nyloc nuts on the backside so they can be tightened if needed. This unit was a returned item and not sure why, it’s as new except for the dust and homemade box wrapped in tape. If you made it thus far in the review you must be thinking about it. High quality and sturdy. It is well made, easy to use and very functional. I gave it 4 stars in lieu of 5 for the following reason, there is a handy strap at the bottom of the tripod that holds the legs together BUT it is not connected at the factory so when opening the box, the legs fell and snaped two of the 3 chains at the top of the legs. The 4 star rating is to get people’s attention so they read this and hopefully don’t do the same thing. Read more

Been using it on a regular basis. Wasn't expecting pro quality but am pleasantly surprised. The adjustment knobs are a bit rough and a little fragile (bent first time it was stowed in the bag), but they aren't really even needed. I'd def buy this tripod again. This review is for the light weight laser tripod. I've seen reviews talking about the tripod being flimsy but this seems to be built just as strong as my camera tripod I had been using for years. Granted, the camera tripod wasn't top of the line either, but again, it's been good for years. I needed something that could get my laser level up close to the ceiling. In the past I stacked things up to set my camera tripod on to do this but was very aggravating. This made my most recent project SO much easier. If you are a 'pro' using this every day, moving it from site to site, maybe get something sturdier. If you are a DIYer that uses a laser level for as a project comes up but it is mostly stored away, this will work fine for you and won't break the bank. I have a Hauper 4x360 level, so it's not really light weight, and have had no stability concerns. The legs are thin aluminum, the poles are (I assume) aluminum pretty stout, I'm not a huge fan of all the plastic uses but it seems that is pretty standard for non professional systems that costs way more than this one. Generally well made and a bargain at its price. I need a tripod to use on concrete, so the feet this unit features were great for my needs, although they are more of a plastic than a rubber material. The mounting plate on the top is a little on the small side, but it does the job. I would prefer to have some type of limit on the legs so that they don't swing out too far, but the way this unit is made seems to be common for this type of tripod. The unit arrived with a fixed hanger for a plumb bob, which may be fitting for many applications, but it would be nice if it were a little easier to remove when you don't want it there, such as when using a theodolite. Legs are easy to adjust. Overall, good product at a good price. Read more
