Can cause serious irritation
First of all, I have many years of experience working for prestige cosmetic companies. I know my ingredients. There are two kinds of Vitamin C products. One can boost radiance and give smoothness. Many however can cause irritation as they are acidic and, as with AHAs, exfoliate chemically. I thought that this product seemed like a radiance formulation, and when I tried it, it did have that smoothing, radiance-enhancing effect and the orangey smell. However soon after I started using it, I had a bout of redness, itchiness, inflammation and peeling that I blamed on dehydration, winter dryness and the flu. I had gone back to my previous routine, and forgotten all about this. I then saw an ad touting it as a miracle for wrinkles and found it in the back of my cabinet. In two days, my skin is again peeling, irritated, inflamed, red and itchy. I now know it was the cause. This is not helpful to aging, as nothing looks worse than red, inflamed, patchy skin and it is damaging. Furthermore, this is not entirely due to a sensitive skin type, but the acidic nature of the ingredients. The lack of reviews mentioning this are simply because it is not explained, people don't know what the cause is, and it feels soothing going on. Other than exfoliating, it will do nothing for wrinkles, and it may irritate. The pump also contains much less than it appears. Read more
