This thermometer gives reliable temperature readings and is easy to use. The only small downside is that you need to be still for a moment to get an accurate reading, but overall it performs really well. Good value for the price! Read more
A few nits: 1. there's a "turned-on" beep but it's almost inaudible; 2. there's supposed to be a beep when the temp is ready and shown but it IS inaudible; 3. changing the battery is a pain because it's difficult to pry open the battery cover (gap is too small for easy prying, and the plastic material is soft and gets gouged); 4. repeat readings consistently give small variations (but usually within the +/- 0.2F margin of error). How did I ever live without this. It does all that it says it does. I love the colors that change depending on the temperature reading, and the large numbers. It IS fast! I haven't taken the time to compare or check accuracy against other thermometers - but assume that Vicks knows what they are doing, and that it will be well within acceptable tollerance for accuracy. That it's so fast means you get a QUICK read - when children or fussy or feeling badly. That is a GOOD thing. I love it - and I'm so glad we've made so much progress on this front. The only thing I don't know yet, is how long the battery will last. One note - the battery compartment is VERY VERY tight. Not a bad idea to put a little vaseline on the cap when you take it off, to make it easier to spin off next time. Other than that - no concerns at all. Thanks VICKS! Read more
Great thermometer. Detects temp. Fast!!! I keep a spare. Big numbers. Initially light up: green(normal), yellow (elevated temp.), red (fever) so numbers not as critical. Read more
