I bought one at local grocery store. It reads virtually the same as one at our clinic and one I have at home and doing a check 3 times in a row gives the same temperature. I like the bigger display and distinctly audible beeps. At night if it's green you don't need to turn on a light to see the actual reading. The battery (CR1225) is not a real common size. They are readily available on eBay or Amazon. Instructions say 300 readings on one battery. Very easy to change as in my picture. Just turn cap to mark and tap gently on palm to get cover off. I love this thermometer. It's sooo helpful that it's fast when working with young children.I have found it to be very consistent. I can do it in their mouths and then under arm and get an almost exactly 1 degree different. I'm not sure why others are having problems. maybe having your mouth hanging open repeatedly to do it? i know that i don't use it orally on my little one when I wake him up as he's a mouth breather when he sleeps and it won't give me his actual temp. I stick to underarms at that time. Read more
