Victorinox Cooks Knife 5 blade

This knife is fantastic. I’m a nut about having sharp knives and chisels. This knife was sharp enough to shave. The thin profile makes it slice zucchini the long way almost effortlessly. I was so impressed that i bought the five inch knife which is even better with the larger handle. Both are easily touched up with a sharpening steel. Fantastic budget friendly utility knife, comfortable for everyone in my family to use without concern. Decent steel that is very easy to maintain, which you should do with all of your blades, and comfortable not-small handle. It may be something to consider that while the blade is slightly on the smaller side, the handle isn't. I buy the best. I’ve got expensive Japanese knives and expensive knives from around the globe. That said, I reach for this knife every day. It’s not an expensive Victorinox knife (I’ve got expensive Victorinox boning and breaking knives) but it’s a perfect little knife for slicing onions, other vegetables, and for slicing strips of chicken off the bone for chicken sandwiches. It holds an edge well and the edge is easily maintained using a honing rod and leather strop. Light and easily handled, it’s a keeper. Read more
