Best 40 bucks I've ever spent! Ever since shoulder surgery a few years ago, I've suffered with upper thoracic, shoulder, and neck pain. Professional massage works best, but I can't afford it on a regular basis. I've had this thing for months now, and it's been wonderful for my shoulders and neck. I just hold on to the straps and move it around where I need it, adjusting the pressure applied to more painful areas. It took a few minutes to realize there is a pause between cycles, when it switches direction. So, don't freak out, it's not broken. It also took me until my current injury, a severe lower back strain, to realize that the three settings are not just about the speed or strength of the massage, but it seems to also have different patterns. I saw my doctor, and took cyclobenzaprine, ibuprofen, and acetaminophen, which worked. However, as soon as the meds wore off, I was just as immobile as before. It wasn't until the 2nd day, when I started to use this by sitting in my office chair with it propped behind me, that I began to notice improvement. I start mid back and then gradually adjust it downward over 20 minutes, all the way down to my butt. Mobility and pain have improved drastically, even when medicine wears off. Warning, though, it's a "hurt so good" massage, and will leave you feeling bruised, as if done by a pro, if you have an injury. I ice my back afterward, which helps. Read more

As stated in the description, it massaged the neck and upper part of the shoulders but didn't massage other back parts. Trying to get it to massage from my lower shoulders down was awkward and a struggle, putting strain on my shoulders and arms, defeating its purpose. The message part only went around in circles, which is okay, but I hoped it would move slightly in the other direction. Also, on the lowest level, it was fine but needed more pressure, but it became too intense on the other two levels, with the biggest knob too painful. There was no middle ground with the pressure for my liking, and I usually love deep tissue massages. The heat function is extremely weak, and I barely felt anything. There is no option to increase the heat; you must turn it on and off. This would be okay for someone with more meat on their back who only needs to have their neck and upper shoulders worked on. If you have back tension lower than that, this may not help without you becoming a contortionist. Read more

My husband and I have been going to a chiropractor almost weekly for over a year now. Needless to say that gets very expensive. I'd been eyeing this massager for a while so when I saw this pop up on the daily deals page I figured why not give it a shot. I am soooo glad I did. Within the first couple of minutes of using it I could feel it working through knots in my muscles that always bunch up on me. Moving it to my lower back and turning on the heat setting was like heaven. Note: As others have said it does not get heated super fast. And, it stays just at warm. If you use it for an extended period of time and use the heat setting the whole time you'll notice the heat more. I used it while sitting through a whole movie just moving it around to everywhere I needed it. It felt amazing although I was definitely sore the next day lol. But a good kind of sore. Not painful just aware of all the spots I'd used it on. Only downside is it has to be plugged in. So anywhere you choose to move around to has to have an outlet nearby. Otherwise, this is worth every penny and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone. Read more
