Lamp harp visible below shade
The Glivpny Vintage Table Lamp is a charming "chinoiserie" style lamp with a frosted glass shade and a jade green crackle ceramic base. The lines of the lamp are well balanced and the vintage look is very appealing. It comes with a dimmable bulb that works well with the touch base, which provides three brightness settings simply by touching the base of the lamp. It came extremely well packed. The packaging was obviously carefully designed to protect the glass shade. Unfortunately, this attention to detail did not apply to the design of the lamp harp (the piece which is used to attach the shade to the base). The bottom of the lamp harp is clearly visible below the lampshade from all angles, and this ruins the overall attractiveness of the lamp, at least for me. I had really been looking forward to receiving this lamp. However, the glaring visibility of the lamp below the shade ruins it for me. It is a shame because the lamp is well made and otherwise very attractive. I realize this may not be a big issue for some, but it is a game changer for me, unfortunately.
