This styling powder does a good job adding volume and texture without making hair feel greasy or heavy. It creates a natural, matte finish and gives noticeable lift at the roots, especially for fine or thinner hair. A little goes a long way, so you don’t need much to see results. The powder is very lightweight, which I like, but it can take some experimenting to find the best application method. Rubbing it between the hands didn’t always give me the wax-like feel described, and I found it worked better when applied lightly and worked in at the roots. If too much is used, hair can feel a bit stiff or powdery. Once applied correctly, it styles easily and doesn’t add shine or buildup. It also washes out without much effort, which is a plus for regular use. Overall, this is a solid volume powder that does what it’s meant to do, just with a bit of a learning curve. Great for texture and lift, but not quite perfect enough to earn a full five stars. Read more

I’ve been using Jack The Barber Volume Styling Powder for a week now, and it’s become a solid part of my routine. It gives my hair noticeable volume and texture, especially at the roots, without making it look shiny or greasy. I really like the natural, matte finish for everyday wear. Once it’s worked in, the powder feels lightweight, and I’ve learned that a little goes a long way. If I use too much, my hair can feel slightly dry or tangled, so I stick to applying it sparingly on completely dry hair. Even though the powder itself is light in color, it blends in well and doesn’t show up at all on my dark hair, which was something I was worried about at first. It doesn’t give a super strong hold, but that’s actually what I want. It keeps my style flexible while still giving enough grip and lift to hold its shape throughout the day. It also washes out easily and works well alongside other products if I want a bit more hold. Overall, I’m happy with it. If you’re looking for a styling powder that adds volume and texture without looking heavy or overdone, this one does the job really well. Read more

I have mixed feelings about this styling powder. I'm giving it four stars because it works to help my thin hair achieve volume, especially on top, however there are a couple things I really don't like about it as well. The container arrived about half full. It only takes a small amount, but the container probably could have been smaller to make it even better for travel given the amount of powder inside. The powder is very fine. I didn't follow the instructions for application, I sprinkled a small amount directly on dry hair at my crown area where I wanted some extra volume. Application is very simple with the way the cap is designed. What I noticed is that the powdery feeling didn't go away. Later in the day when I ran my fingers through my hair, it felt dirty. This product also seemed to diminish some of the shine I normally have. So it works, but there are trade offs. I don't think it will be a go-to product for me but one I'd use occasionally when I style power is desired over softness. Read more

It starts on a morning when the mirror offers no inspiration. Coffee cools. Time presses. You reach for something small that promises a little lift—nothing dramatic, just enough to change the day. This powder feels like a secret handshake. A soft shake into the palm, a brief rub, and suddenly it behaves like wax—obedient, light, intuitive. Short hair responds beautifully, especially when it needs definition without stiffness. Fingers do the work. Texture appears. Volume settles in naturally, as if it’s always belonged there. There’s no scent announcing your arrival, no residue reminding you it’s there. Just hair that looks intentional, styled without looking styled at all. It’s the kind of product that disappears once it’s done its job. Which, of course, is exactly the point. — Details: Powder transforms into a wax-like texture when activated Adds volume, texture, and grip for all hair types Unscented, paraben-free, vegan-friendly formula Includes aloe extract and sodium hyaluronate for hair care Read more

This didn't do the job for me. The powder is so fine and light that it tends to get everywhere if your not careful. When you try to rub it and get it to soften and compact into wax it will literally poof and get all over, especially if you pour too much. When you do finally get it rubbed into a wax form it's basically such a small amount it just rubs into the palm of your hand and you can't really get it worked into your hair. Also, being a wax it's completely hydrophobic so doesn't mix well with water and can't really be put directly in hair since it needs to be warmed slightly to melt. Overall, that s just wasn't effective for me and wouldn't be a good value. I was left unable to properly style my hair or get a good texture. Read more

This is such an odd product. I like the idea behind the product, but for me it just isn’t it. First off, the bottle is only half full. I’m not sure why as this is a powder. Second, the bottle says to shake well before use, again, not sure why as this is a powder. Next you are to put this in your hands and rub together. That also didnt work for me, as it just just went everywhere. I tried to put this directly on my hair, but with that, it just stays where it lands. There is no way to work this into the hair. Once it’s there, it’s there. It didnt really do anything for my hair. Just made it stiff. No texture, no volume. Not what I had expected from this product. Read more
