A fantastic air purifier for larger spaces. I use this purifier in the living room of my apartment. It is easily able to purify the airspace between the living room, kitchen, office and hallways at fan speed setting 2 of 4. The airflow is quiet, and very powerful. On full setting, it can be a bit loud, but the airflow it produces is massive. I personally do not need it to run at full speed, medium is more than enough to cover 600 square feet or so. I’m very happy with this purchase! Here’s a list of pros and cons: Pros: *Auto sensing setting – automatically adjusts fan speed by continuously checking air quality. When air quality is good, fan will run at quietest setting automatically. *Easily replaced and affordable filters. *Small footprint - fits easily into a corner. *Whole room coverage – with it’s upward facing air output, the purifier spreads purified air across the entire room, circulating air from top to bottom. *Affordable filter replacements – With separate carbon and hepa filters, cost is low for replacement of the more often worn carbon filter. *It looks good! With it’s white finish and curved lines, this purifier looks modern and attractive in my living room. *Five-year warranty – Vornado has excellent customer service and guarantees their products for three, five or ten years. This product holds a five-year warranty – great peace of mind. Cons: *At it’s highest air speed setting, the purifier can be a bit loud. air cleaner/purifiers. I have also purchased and use theWinix 5200 with an equal amount of success (though I find it trickier to get used to the controls). Of the two, I think the Vornado is far easier to use and clean (I clean the spongy "carbon" filter which is really nothing more than a robust, thicker version of the usual A/C sponge filter that one buys for a window mounted a/c) and vacuum the hepa filter so as to extend its effective lifetime. Essentially, I just leave it on the lowest setting (we have it on in our bedroom area 24/7/365) and clean it once a month. The result, ....both my wife and I have less "allergy/dust/pollen/whatever" congestion. We breath much easier at night and feel the air quality as fresher and healthier. Again, for the price of about $100 you get a robustly made, quietly operating machine (that we keep on the low setting) for 24/7 and have noticed a very substantial difference in our breathing ability while sleeping. I HIGHLY recommend the unit. I am a retired mechanical engineer and I know quality when I see and use it thus, 5 stars (wish I could give it 10) all around. The only time I pay attention to it is monthly cleanup of filters which takes all of 10 minutes. First, the bad news. I bought three of these units and they all arrived with a horrific chemical smell. That's just bad business. People are buying these because they want clean air. And what kind of ungodly chemicals is this plastic made out of if it smells like this? I have many other Vernado products and none have arrived with this terrible smell. I had to put the air purifiers in my garage to off gas for over a month until the smell went away. That's how strong this smell was. The good news: Once they off-gassed, the air purifiers themselves work great. Super easy to set up and operate. Intuitive. User-friendly. Aesthetically pleasing and looks good in every room. Heads up: If you like to sleep in a totally dark room, this purifier gives off a small amount of blue light by the on-off button. If you don't like it, it can be easily covered up by putting a small sticker or something over it. Read more

A nice air purifier with true Hepa filtration and does not produce Ozone. Others have commented on the noise level but if you use a Hepa for both air quality and night time white noise you will love it. It is a really uniform white noise. For television viewing you can simply turn it down but as most people now have sound bars at a minimum it should not be an issue. Mu surround sound is not phased by the noise on the second to highest setting which is where I run it 24/7. The box arrived in good shape and the packaging was sufficient to protect the unit. Here are a few pros and cons I have observed: Pros: -Powerful circulation and filtration. -Easy to use, intuitive controls. -Control lights are on the back so they do not glare in your eyes at night. This is a much appreciated touch. -Relatively slim design for the square footage it covers. -Uses air returns on both sides and discharge on top angled forward. This should mean you are not recirculating as much previously filtered air. Overall this is a superior design to other units I have owned.
