Shaving Your Head Bald? This is the Right Tool for the Job!
If you're like me, you've likely been trying to decide on which set of balding clippers to buy- checking out review websites and comparing models. Let me save you some time- these are the balding clippers you want. I've seen all the reviews on all the websites, and I took what I thought was a risk buying these clippers because of both the cost and some of the negative reviews here. As it turns out, it was an excellent decision and worth the risk. Here's why: For the past year plus, since I came to grips with the fact that my hair was thinning, I've been shaving my head. My tool of choice was a set of Wahl clippers meant for hair cutting. I'd run it without a guard, with the blade on the closest level. Well, after about ten years of use, those clippers died and needed replacing. Needing to purchase a new set, I learned about these clippers, specifically designed for balding purposes. I was hesitant because several reviews spoke of receiving used clippers. Well, I can't speak for them, but I can report that I was sent a brand new, in original packaging, set of clippers. After examining them closely, I plugged in and went to work. Let me just say... WOW. What a difference. If you've only been using regular clippers at their lowest setting, this is night and day different. First of all, these have more power than standard Wahl clippers meant for regular haircuts (even the heavy duty ones used in salons.) They glide through hair of varying length and thickness. Since I had been waiting a few days for these to arrive my hair was a little longer than usual. These clippers just sailed through the hair, mowing it down quickly, without hesitation. Secondly, they absolutely cut closer. It's not as close as using a razor blade, but so close that if you're using a razor blade or standard clippers, you'll never go back. Now, because they are so sharp and heavy, using them does require a learning curve. Their weight is sufficient that you need not press down into your scalp while cutting, but that results in their being a little awkward to hold. If you're new to all of this, you'll just want to take your time until you get a real feel for it. Also, they are a little more pricey than other models available. Let me say, this is a case of, "you get what you pay for." If you want a set of heavy duty, professional clippers designed specifically for balding your head, then you're going to need to spend a little more. Otherwise, you'll end up with something under-powered because it's battery powered, or something that doesn't cut as well because it's not actually designed for balding purposes. Hopefully this review will help those who are on the fence, as I was before this purchase. As an aside, I should mention that I am a real person, who purchased these clippers with my own money, and I am not employed or compensated by Amazon or Wahl in any way. I'm just a guy who is happy with his balding clipper purchase and wanted to write a review to help anyone in a similar situation weighing their options. Cheers. Read more
