It does the job. Plenty of plastic dies to choose from, including for rectangular bodies. Definitely not a high-precision tool. But what do you expect for the price? The screw threads are coarse and loose (grease helps). Nothing feels high-quality — it’s some nylon dies, two metal plates and a screw with a T-handle. But for occasional use to replace watch batteries, it does the job without marring anything. One word of advice: I had a lot of trouble getting a fairly large watchback into place using the “right sized” die. No matter how hard I tightened the screw, the back wouldn’t snap into place. This press worked perfectly. It is an absolute bargain for the price. I ended up picking this one because it has the greatest number of molds and they go beyond just round ones. Plus, each of the round ones has two sides so you get double the number of sizes with half the number of molds. Some of the other presses will have the bottom molds screw onto studs but I think that is completely unnecessary because the watch isn’t going anywhere when you press straight down on the case back with the press. I have always been able to snap watch case backs on just using my thumbs, but not this time. The watch I changed the battery on this time is a very small round Bulova and I felt like I was going to smash the crystal if I kept pressing away at it. I looked on YouTube and there are morons who have posted videos suggesting you put the watch on a cloth with the crystal side down and use the handle of a hammer or some other tool to roll along the case back to snap it into place. How do you not risk breaking the crystal that way? It is a watch I have had for decades, and I recently found it, and my daughter asked if she could have it; therefore, I really did not want to destroy it. It took just a couple of minutes to find the right size, bottom and top molds, and took just a few seconds to snap the case back on. Read more

This is a device of unique and inexpensive quality. Durable screw and frame makes it easy to use without flex or worries. The kit comes with an included set of nylon dies to fit just about every watch face or back you could encounter. A set of included square dies makes it easy to reassemble Casio style watches in square bodies. An included microfiber cloth protects the watch crystal as you press the two case halves together. The trick is to select a back die that's smaller than the case diameter. The front crystal side should be of a wider diameter so as to not put pressure on the crystal itself, but rather; sit outside of the crystal on the bezel edges.
