I had my 20 year old Cartier watch serviced and repaired 12 years after I purchased it new. They fixed everything, replaced seals, and fixed a broken clasp. This 10 yr maintenance is $500, but mine had other issues so it was $1000. When my watch began gaining 1, 2, 3, and then 4 minutes everyday, I just wound my pricy watch back every other day and thought, this really stinks but the watch is relatively functional and it’s not a good time to spend money. And then I read about watches becoming magnetized. I tested mine on a 40 year old army compass and it moved the needle. I was going to buy this machine regardless because I figured it was worth a shot. I accessed my bezel and pulled it out to pause movement. I did not let it discharge. I performed the demagnetization procedure a single time, set my watch, and waited to see. That was 4 days ago and my time is dead on accurate now. This little machine saved me so much money and made me so very satisfied. In trying to figure out what was causing this, I discovered that the front corners of my work laptop, where I rest my wrists to type were magnetic.
