I was so tired of having to buy GE filters for my refrigerator at their ridiculous cost. But, I was extremely wary of all the Chinese filter that would be a health risk to buy. I did extensive research on Waterdrop. True, they are made in china but these pass several water testing criteria. Look them up for yourself as a company. Giving filter a 5 for now

I obtained these filters for a about half price of the GE Filters. I trusted the GE filters, but they are supposed to last 6 months and I have mainly gotten less than 3 months before they slow to a crawl. If these last even the same length, I am saving good money. My hope is that they can last 4 months or more. Is it filtering as many chemicals? Can't be sure. The water tastes crystal clear with the Water Drop and it fit just like the GE, so I am going to stick with it and update about the longevity. UPDATE: The first 2 filters both lasted 4 and a half months when the filter warning light came on. The flow at the time was a bit slower, but I could have probably kept using them. Since these filters are cheaper and last longer, I don't mind changing them when the light comes on. I am going to stick with this filter, unless I detect poor taste or other issues. Read more

easy to install. great tasting water and ice

I can only say that it was easy to install and replace in my refrigerator. Given that I dont have the lab to analyze how well it works, I can only say that the water is clear, tastes great and the ice is clear. It is important after installing, to run at least a gallon of water through the filter to clear air from lines and remove carbon dust that gets flushed from the new filter (not toxic, just ugly). I just use the water on my plants....waste not want not, right? Our household is made up of two adults and we use the refrigerator dispenser for water and ice several times a day. It seems to last us about 6 months. (i dont know if the refrigerator is saying it needs to be changed because of age or volume of water that's been filtered.) for the price, I am happy with this particular filter. Read more
