It is a little bit longer than the original filters that came with the original container (which as far as I can tell are not being sold at any target or Walmart anywhere I've looked any longer) but it fits with about 0.5 inch clearance. The taste.. It is a bit better than drinking the tap. The chlorine smell and taste are definitely gone, so it does taste better. It seems to be doing its job.
