This is hands down the best water filter on the market for the money. I've been using this product for three plus years. My city water has a strong chlorine taste and is not perfectly clear. This filter removed one hundred percent of the bad taste and the water is nice and clear even after three years. I changed it because that's what the company recommended. It's not meant to make your water medical grade. For that you should get an RO system which costs three times more and wastes a ton of water and uses multiple filters. This filter fits nicely under my sink and is a three second process to change. I love it because the water tastes great. If this is your first water filter, buy the kit that comes with a stainless faucet that will mount to your sink and comes with all the necessary plumbing accessories. Definite improvement in the chlorine taste of our water, but what is it adding to the water that increases the TDS count? I do love having a filter that is hooked up so we don't have to keep refilling. Am a bit concerned about the multiple reviews (noticed after purchase) of the housing breaking, causing flooding!! Let me start out by saying, I do not normally do any reviews. I will do one for this product, only because I hated drinking the city tap water, and I even bought ice. My refrigerator did both, but I could not stand the taste even after I replaced the factory water filter. I took a chance on the WaterDrop filter, and I am so happy with it. I now drink the tap water and I no longer have to buy my ice. I highly recommend this filter to anyone that wants a cleaner tasting water and I just wish I found this filter sooner. It is so simple to install and to replace the filter. I purchased the RF17 because it advertised 19,000 gal or 3 years, I figure if I replace it in 2 years… it would have saved me around $500.00 a year in ice alone. It was a replacement for the previous one which did bust loose under the sink spraying water everywhere! So it serves it’s purpose of filtering the water, but there doesn’t appear to have any indication of when it’s time to replace it! Read more
