These RO membranes are on a timer set for a 2 year change interval. My TDS meter reading was slowly climbing. Changing the 2 other filters did not cause the TDS readings to drop. After 1.5 years I replaced the membrane filter. The TDS reading dropped back down to 2-3. Take away : The filter change light is just a suggestion. Depending on the supply water quality and how much water you have made you may want to consider replacing the filter sooner. Read more
